this is a very important scene of fukawa touko.
how many times prior to this scene has fukawa voluntarily acted on her own? almost every single decision she has made up until now was based on what togami did. togami does to the library, fukawa goes to the library. togami points out something suspicious naegi has done. fukawa rushes to accuse naegi of murder. hell, fukawa rarely speaks unless togami does so first.
but this scene. this scene.
when naegi comes back from the dead radiating with a new vibrance of hope and determination, fukawa leaves her comfortable seat near togami by her own will to greet naegi. she followed asahina and hagakure toward naegi, despite the god awful smell of the dumpsters, completely regardless of the fact that togami has simply stood there. here, fukawa displays her capacity to hope and love beyond her one sided infatuation with her white knight. here, fukawa shows her gratitude and relief that naegi has returned, if only by acknowledging him before togami.
